Does the Dyson DC11 Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner Perform As Advertised?
Just Imagine a Dyson DC11 Cleaning Your Home
The Dyson DC11 bagless canister vacuum cleaner has a lot going for it. It comes from the Dyson's canister class of vacuum cleaners which is typically regarded as being better for bare floor and bare boards cleaning. Its also favored as better for stair cleaning work and on drapes and upholstery. So if you live in a split level or multi level house, you might want to consider getting this one.
The Dyson DC11 bagless canister vacuum cleaner is bagless. Guess that's kinda obvious at this point. But how does that help with cleaning your home?
Any machine using a vacuum bag has great suction when the bag is fresh and empty. But as the dust and other particles begin to clog up the pores of the bag airflow begins to be restricted. As a result suction power is lost. And diminishes over time until the bag is replaced. Bagless vacuums were developed to combat that lose of suction affect.
Claim to Fame: This model comes equipped with root cyclone technology, a HEPA filter, a motor operated brush-bar for better carpet/floor cleaning without having to change attachments. Plus you get a 2 year warranty.
Pros:
The fully telescopic wand and hose fits snugly in place around the canister for easy storage.
All accessories are stored on board too. Making them easy to find when needed. Plus being snap on makes switching from one to another super simple.
No need to ever buy another vacuum cleaner bag. The DC11 allows you to save on bags. Eliminating the need to replace the bags in your vacuum every time you want to clean house. (Or so it would seems you have to do, right?)
The cord is self-retracting and operates at the touch of a toe pressed on the handy foot button.
One nifty feature is the suction relief trigger. You'll know how nifty if your vacuum ever starts to inhale one of those plastic bags from the grocery store and you can only engage in a tug of war to keep it out.
The large wheels make this easily maneuverable.
Easily stores in a closet without taking up a lot of space.
Cons:
Being bagless, it has the typical problems that all bagless vacuums have - the emptying out and cleaning up! Without a bag, this can get a bit messy at times for some.
There's been mention of a somewhat short power cord. Although at nearly 22 feet this seems to fall into the nit or quibble, rather than disadvantage, category.
Extra attachments are available but you'll pay for the privilege. Plus there is no space on the canister body to store them.
It vacuums up dust super fast which is good - except that the canister gets filled fast too. Which could mean you will need to empty the bin out pretty frequently when vacuuming.
Bottom Line: Competiting in the $400-$500 price range, the Dyson DC11 bagless canister vacuum cleaner seems to be a good buy. One that gets a lot of rave reviews from fans who own one.
