Dyson DC14 Upright Vacuum

Does the Dyson DC14 Bagless Upright
Vacuum Live Up To The Hype?

Yes, you're right. There are plenty of vacuums to choose from. But there are only a few that can meet the demands of a home that has pets that shed, messy kids or a carpet that impersonates a dirt magnet. In that case chances are an ordinary vacuum will not be up to the task. In that case you need a vac with incredible suction. In that case you'll likely need a Dyson DC14 upright vacuum.

Product: Dyson DC14 Upright Vacuum

Upright vacuum cleaner designed to clean all types of floors with Root Cyclone technology guarantees strong and uninterrupted suction.

Hardware:

2' wand plus 14' hose

Useful array of onboard attachments

Clear easy view dust bin

Lifetime HEPA filter

Claim to Fame: This DC14 can easily clean all types of floors and even reach for high areas of the home. It is convenient for stairs and can be moved around from one room to another because of its rollers. It has a motorized brush bar that can be turned on or off independently of the vacuum. Turn it on when you're cleaning your carpet to remove lint and animal hair. Or, turn it off to clean rugs, pillows or fragile floors. Special edge cleaning whiskers can agitate the dust, directing into the airflow of the vacuum.

The Cyclone Technology ensures that the powerful suction is constant the time it is used. With the HEPA filter, the unit expels air that is virtually disease free. 150 times less molds and bacteria than the air you breathe. It has a post motor electrostatic filter that filters all the carbon emissions.

Pros:
Any list of advantages has to start with the suction power. Legendary suction power. Constant, high-powered suction. Suction that won't weaken or falter over time which is a big reason this unit is such a hit. As a result of all this suction it can efficiently clean all types of floors from wood to ceramic tiled floors to carpeting. .

This vacuum's dust bin is easy to empty with just a press of the button. Can you say that about changing vacuum bags?

The quick draw wand can be used to clean high places. Just extend the hose and you're good to go. Plus it's long enough to sweep all your stairs without having to lug the vacuum up the stairs.

The handle fits your hand well thanks to it's ergonomic design. Another nice touch is the carrying handle which makes it easy to move the unit from one part of the house to another. Small points, yes. But nice touches none the less.

It comes with a long cord that let you cover a lot of ground without having to stop, unplug and plug in again. Letting you vacuum more in less time.

This is the only certified asthma friendly vacuum by the Asthma and Allergy foundation of America and also approved by the British Allergy foundation. The HEPA filter behind this praise is easy to access, remove and wash with cold water when needed.

There's the full two year warranty that also covers maintenance. Should you need it the Dyson Helpline is 1-866-693-9766 and it's open 24/7.

Cons:
The vacuum can't easily get under low lying beds or sofas or the toe kick of your cabinets in the kitchen.

You may find you need to cut the string and hair that accumulates on the beater bar more often than you'd like. Although this "problem" may diminish over time as you run out of such debris left by your previous vacuum.

Some mention the racket it makes on the carpet setting which is best described as an awful ratcheting noise that is both loud and annoying at the same time. While it may be annoying it's also a good thing as this is your vacuum's way of letting you there's a problem you need to tend to. Upon closer inspection you may find it's the area rug that's been partially sucked in.

You may find that rubber belt that operates beater bar will stretch over time and have to be replaced to insure good results.

You'll have to be brave enough to shell out over $500 for a vacuum cleaner. Yes it's pricey. But considering it should outlast similar products it may be a price worth paying.

Bottom Line: Now I'm not going to tell you this is the best vacuum you can find. But what sets this Dyson DC 14 apart is the ability to gobble up pet hair. The machine is ideal for large homes with different types of flooring that are inhabited by shedding pets and typical kids. If that's your home, this vacuum has your name written all over it.
