Miele Capricorn - Unbiased Review

Is the Miele Capricorn the Cadillac of vacuums
or just another vacuum with a Cadillac price tag?

Anyone looking for a high quality, effective, quiet, reliable, easy to use vacuum cleaner sooner or later ends up at least considering a Miele. And one model that fits the bill for many is the Miele Capricorn.

Many buyers of the Miele Capricorn vacuum cleaner give it rave reviews and ratings. Despite the higher price point it's claimed to offer users superior vacuuming performance.

But if you're still unsure you'll want to check out some of the pros and cons listed here.

Product: Miele Capricorn Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Claim to fame: Like other vacuums in the Miele line of vacs it is said to be ultra quiet. It's been said to be so quiet even your pets will never realize you are vacuuming the floor. Well, okay but that's a stretch. My cat could be dead and would still realize it - skittish as she is. But it is one of the quieter models on the market. So quiet you may be able to carry on a cell phone conversation while sweeping away with your Capricorn.

Pros:
This canister vacuum has many features best put in the "nice touch" department.

Such as finger tip controls in the handle for adjusting power to any of six levels depending on the type of surface you are vacuuming.

It incorporates a sealed system construction with a HEPA filter to capture harmful dust micro particles leading to superior dust clean up.

A dust bag with 15% more filtration capacity leading to improved suction performance. Plus you're secure in the knowledge that any dust sucked up is not going to blow back out into your room.

Plus its new silence setting makes it one of the quietest vacuum cleaners going. Especially when operating at the lower suction settings.

There are also extra nice touches like the telescoping wand, motor over heating indicator, and filter indictor. Plus a generous list of accessories.

This is a vacuum cleaner to consider if you have pets that shed. And what pet doesn't? The power nozzle and its power brush cleans up pet hair in a jiffy. Even any that is embedded in your carpets, furniture or the stairs.

You're apt to like the user friendly power on/off, pause, adjust suction controls positioned conveniently on the handle. Convenient because it keeps you from having to bend down often to change settings. Thus this light weight vacuum cleaner with its ergonomic handle can be used with equal ease by both older homeowners and women.

The HEPA filters are great for allergy and asthma sufferers.

Along with seven year warranty it comes with self sealing bags, self winding cord, a durable plastic shell, retractable wand all of which make it a good value for your money.

It's also a light weight. As even with the many easy attach tools like the crevice or upholstery tool plus various brushes stowed on board this vac weighs in at just 13 pounds.

Cons:
The most commonly mentioned drawback is its price tag. So don't go looking for this at Walmart. But German engineering doesn't come cheap I guess.

Bottom line: This vacuum is clearly not for everyone; but is it the right vacuum for you? Well, it is if you're tired of the roar that's coming from yours. It may be too if allergies are a concern. Yes you'll end up paying more for a Miele Capricorn. But if you look at this vacuum cleaner as an investment in quiet yet superior performance maybe you're getting more too?
