Miele FJM Bags - Taking a Closer LookOkay so you got yourself a Miele. You love how it vacuums. You love that it's quiet yet powerful. But maybe you're stuck on one point. Maybe you're wondering just how Miele FJM bags are different from other generic, run-of-the-mill vacuum bags out there and if they're really worth the price.Claim to fame: Miele FJM bags are the bag choice for the Miele canister 300-600 series and for all the latest s5 galaxy series of Mieles. For $18 you get 4 Hyclean clean bags, one motor filter and one super air clean filter. When you consider these come equipped with a protective webbing, special filtering material and excellent airflow the price for Miele FJM bags may not be that bad. Pros: Automatic Dust Bag Collar: This unique feature insures the dirt, dust, and debris sucked up stays locked tightly inside the bag and does not escape all over you when taking it out. The automatic dust bag collar also sees to it that the bag's plastic flap closes whenever the vac is opened to remove the bag. The collar also keeps the vacuum from recirculating dust and dirt back into the air. So you need never come in contact with dust at all. Good for people with dust sensitivities. Protective Mesh: The protective netting protects the 9 layers of filtration fabric inside to prevent damage thus lengthening bag life. Airflow Guides: There are two airflow guides in the bag to make sure the air circulates correctly inside the bag. This also works to increase storage capacity by 25%. The airflow guides along with the impact foil also prevent sharp objects from getting inside the bag where they might become guided missiles that rip the bag apart. Ease of Installation: Aside from all that they are a snap to install and remove. Fitting snugly in the space Miele has provided. Cons: You get only 5 bags for nearly $20 so they are not exactly inexpensive. Some generic bags for other brands of vacuums may cost less than half of that. Considering this is a consumable items this cost can add up depending on how much vacuuming you do. When the bags are full the bags you may notice they puff out due to the pull down closure design. It requires a slight tweaking in this respect. Bottom line: The Miele FJM bags are best as they are both hygienic and offer an allergy friendly means of removal and disposal. But as they say convenience sometimes comes at a price. So you will have to shell out twice the money when compared to other generic brand of bags. But you may find it worth it.
